  • The M550 has two methods of closure. A hook & loop QuickClose strap in the center & two outer straps with quick-release buckles. The top flap is sized so that most 70-200/2.8 lenses (with hood reversed) can be inserted in this pouch.
  • Back side of the M550. Shown is a hand grab loop and webbing belt loops for attaching to a non-Kinesis belt. A pair of SlikClip buckles are sewn in for attaching to the inside of the Journeyman backpack.
  • The foam front and back panels of the M550 can be removed for a softer bag and more photojournalist approach. (Invert the pouch first to facilitate this procedure.)
  • M550 with two lenses & a light meter. Front slip pocket for Reporter's Notebook or D012 Card Holder. Outer zippered pocket for filters & personal items. An elastic loop is provided for a pen. Side mesh pockets for cell phone, light meter etc. Side webbing
  • Overhead view with a "small" DSLR body with a short lens attached. On the left is a shoe-mount flash. Although the flash pokes up above the top of the case, the loose fit of the lid closes w/o a problem.
  • Smaller single-wide pouches (A126 shown) can be piggy-backed to either side of the M550. Examples include A126, F102, F037, F078, E110, or A291.
  • Bottom view. The overall shape is ergonomically curved to fit on your waist.
  • One of the inherent problems with waist-mounted pouches is how to keep the lid out of the way. The M550 takes a different approach with it's lightly padded lid -- it folds in half and then stuffs away behind the the bag, using a Velcro to hold in plac

  • V-shaped hook and loop on the dividers provides a tight grip.
  • We don‘t currently have extra M550 dividers for purchase, but the V033, which is a tad smaller, will work (far right).

Product Description

This bag is a miniature compartmentalized camera bag for use on a belt. It is designed to hold 2–3 lenses including two 2.8 pro-size zooms (16-35 or 24-70) plus room for a small third lens, teleconverter or light meter.

  • With some of the dividers removed it will hold a “medium” DSLR with a lens attached.
  • It has multiple dividers and a “flop over” lid. The lid has a unique Velcro® tuck away feature, providing unencumbered access to the contents.
  • Fabrication: The sides and bottom are padded with 10mm (3/8") closed-cell foam. The lid has 6mm (1/4") padding. The interior is constructed with a hook & loop fabric for attachment of dividers.
  • Ergonomically curved to fit on your waist.
  • Includes two padded dividers with improved V-shaped, “grippier” Velcro® attachment. The dividers can be positioned anywhere in the case or totally removed. Also available is the V025 “trap door” divider for stacking short lenses or telextenders.
  • We currently don’t offer extra dividers, but the V033, which is a little smaller, will work.
  • Two side webbing loops for an optional shoulder strap (Y315 recommended)
  • Sewn-in SlikClips (on the back side) for mounting inside the Journeyman Pack w/o the need for P111 adapter.
  • Will house most small video camera systems.
  • Pockets & other features: See captioned photos above.
  • Y302 compression strap will attach to the sides
  • Smaller pouches can be piggy-backed onto the ends of the case. The case is designed with angled ends for this purpose.

Field Report

“It fits the D300 with the 70-200/2.8VR, but as you expected, it's tight. I can also keep a tele extender and a small lens tucked in around the big lens. I can still slip a small finger between the lens cap and the end of the case. It's tighter in the front corner of the case than in the back...“ (May 2009).
