This special extension lid which replaces the flat lid provided with your case.

This lid was designed specifically for the Canon 600/4 lens (hood in the stowed position) with a body attached and inside the Kinesis L521 case. The L521 is just tad short for this combo, but rather than make the L521 taller we have designed this slightly taller lid. (Making the L521 larger would create a problem when flying on commercial airlines as it is just at the "maximum carry-on" size for most US domestic carriers.) Please note that when using this lid, the sewn-in hand strap is operable, but snug.

• Adds 3cm (1.2") to the height of any L320, L321, L520, L521, L525, L526 or L621 cases.
• Also fits on L311 or L511 cases with the goofy L228 adapter strap.
• 10mm closed cell foam padding
• It can be ordered instead of the standard lid on any L321, L521 or L622 model ($30 up charge). It adds 3cm (1.2") to the height.
• It secures with a combination of Velcro and quick-release buckles.
• Stow lens with hood in the shooting position or keep the body attached to your lens for fast-breaking shots -- remove the deep lid for airline travel and overhead bin storage.
• Note: Using this lid renders the sewn-in hand strap inoperable — use the included Y515 shoulder strap instead.

Note to existing customers: If you are purchasing this product to retrofit an older long lens case (pre-2006), you MUST specify which style of buckle (e.g. A, B or C) you have. This is due to manufacturer changes in buckles. Click for photo to identify buckle type. Custom L128s are made to order and will usually takes 2-3 weeks production time.
This product will not fit the discontinued larger-diameter L603, L630 or L631 cases.
