Product Description

  • Designed to fit a “medium-sized DSLR body” (i.e. 5D, 20D, D70 etc. w/o vertical grip) with “small lens” attached (18-55, 18-200/3.5-5.6, 24-105/4L, 28-135, 24-120, 24-70/2.8 etc.).
  • The only difference between the C380 and the C382 is that the C382 two built-in side unpadded pockets. The size of the main compartment is the same on both of these cases.
  • Front pocket will hold one shoe-mount flash unit.
  • Does not include a shoulder strap or waist belt.
  • Includes V102 Thin CameraCushion™ divider so bodies with shorter lenses can be used (the CameraCushion elevates the camera).
The C380 or C382 is often used as a stand-alone product with a chest harness or tossed inside a large overnight backpack. Because of this we added two draw-corded pockets on each side (which is why this case is more expensive than the larger C500). These two pockets are ideal for stashing a short lenses (careful, it is not padded), batteries, film or cell phone. They are made from lightweight nylon oxford cloth and will smoosh down flat when not in use.
Also look at the smaller M330 for use as a holster camera case.
By comparison, the larger C500, C540, C580 and C640 cases are designed to hold a full-sized “pro” body. Some of these bodies are made larger with optional vertical grips. The C380 and C382 are for more compact bodies. These two cases are the same height as the C500 but feature a slimmer profile or depth.
Probably the biggest difference between this case and other competing small-sized zoom cases on the market is that the bottom of this case is still adequate for those honker lens hoods of modern-day lenses (i.e. 24-70/2.8, 24-120/3.5, 28-135/3.5 IS etc.).

The C380 or C382 cases will yield a comfortable fit for a body that is up to 12cm (4-3/4") deep or a tight fit for a body up to 13cm or 5-1/8" deep. (The depth dimension of the C380/C382 cases is 9.5cm/3-3/4", which is based on the rectangle-shaped opening. DSLR bodies are triangular shaped, so a C380 or C382 will house a body deeper than the rectangular “depth” dimension).
